A Message from Our Founder
When I started Privé in 2001, it was because no one in New Zealand was representing property buyers. Little has changed. Agents work for sellers. Advice is rarely impartial, never truly independent.
An example of how we work: a client wanted a private estate within an hour of a specific airport, with views that would genuinely impress. Existing properties all required significant compromise.
We found a 200-hectare decommissioned forestry block with elevated near-360-degree views across bays and islands. On paper, problematic. In reality, exceptional potential.
We led the due diligence, acquisition, planning, land-use change, design phases, and project management. The result: an extraordinary estate that wasn’t previously available.
Not every engagement is an estate. Many involve a single home for families relocating or establishing a New Zealand holiday home. But the approach is consistent: search beyond the obvious, assess independently, structure the acquisition properly.
Over the years, Privé has grown beyond New Zealand. We now help clients build international property portfolios: a vineyard in Hawke’s Bay, a lake house in Canada, a coastal retreat in Greece. We go where our clients need us.
I work with a small number of clients at any time, on projects I find genuinely interesting, with people I want to work with. Some have become good friends.
